hmmm... on searching my bookcrossing shelves it seems I read this back in 2005 as well! No recollection of it whatsoever, but in 2005 I said:
This was a fast paced book and a quick read, quite different to The Beach (although it was a few years ago that I read that, and I'm a bit sketchy now on the details). Set in Manilla, a man on the run from some Filipino gangsters drags locals into a dangerous and violent chase.
In 2016, I'd add... book structure is a bit confusing, and brings in unnecessary storylines (I'm a harsher critic at 40 than I was at 30...) sticking with my original 6/10
