The Children's Book

Famous author Olive Wellwood writes a special private book, bound in different colours, for each of her children. In their rambling house near Romney Marsh they play in a story-book world - but their lives, and those of their rich cousins and their friends, the son and daughter of a curator at the new Victoria and Albert Museum, are already inscribed with mystery. Each family carries its own secrets.
They grow up in the golden summers of Edwardian times, but as the sons rebel against their parents and the girls dream of independent futures, they are unaware that in the darkness ahead they will be betrayed unintentionally by the adults who love them.
Although I haven't read it, this seems a very interesting book. Looking up on your bookshelf I discovered that reading in English is not an issue for you, so I hope you will enjoy this book as much as I did choosing it for you!
Thank you, Jota-P, both for the book and the two nice bookmarks. The books looks really interesting and the cover is beautiful!
This was a great read, a big book, with a very well plotted story, set in an historical background (late 1800s - early 1900s). It is packed with information on the social, artistic and political life of the time and it cleaverly mentions, and sometimes manages to include in the story itself, real historical figures. I learned a lot with this book, and by coincidence, I had the opportunity to visit the "Fin-de-Siècle Museum" in Brussles just when I had started reading it and didn't even know what it was about.
Jota-P, since you sent it to me without having read it, maybe I can send it back to you? Let me know. It is a slow read, but it is worth it, I think. Meanwhile, the book is now available.

I lent this book to a non-Bookcrosser friend who will read and release it afterwards.
In the end, it was not released and came back to me. It is now available again.
It is autumn book cleaning season. This book is reserved to be sent to Àrvores soon.
Vai a caminho da ilha!
