Building work at an isolated Peak District farm unearths more than the usual remains ... two human bodies are discovered, seemingly buried years apart.

With little forensic evidence to go on, Detectives Diane Fry and Ben Cooper have to look back into the farm's history where they uncover decades of abuse of migrant workers. Is the truth to be found somewhere in this pieous history?

Or does the answer lie elsewhere, hidden deep in the ground, still waiting to be discovered?

Another creepy countryside tale by a master storyteller. The characters are believable and so is the strange relationship between Cooper and Fry.

Passed to me over coffee and cake. Actually it was tea and hot chocolate not coffee. Thanks, Tanamo, sorry I spoilt your surprise.

I picked this up by the side of the river Goyt in Hague Bar. We enjoyed a lovely walk and I was inspired to take the book, because it is not a genre I would normally choose.

I didn't get round to reading it until I went on holiday. I enjoyed Booth's characters and the odd mention of places I'm very familiar with. The story wasn't completely predictable and I enjoyed it enough to read something else by the same author.

I'm releasing this book by another river - some hundreds of miles away in Peebles, Scotland. I hope someone enjoys it.
