7 novellas about vice and sins. The topic is treated loosely, as there is not a correlation of one sin to one novella. All are good, and entertaining, and sad, and funny, and ludicrous.

The criticism towards China's dictatorship and its policies is clear. Many critics speak about the sexual aspects of the novellas, but I think that the economical aspects, the new rich, the values presented are what criticize the kind of society that China is becoming. I would recommend it any day.

A letter is included, speaking about the author and the censorship in China. He's very courageous to have done that!!!! Wow!!!
