The book that introduces us to the world of vampires out of the coffin and spawned the HBO hit True Blood. Which, although good in it's own right, never quite lives up to the books.

Starting the book on the next leg of the journey. It was secondhand when I got it, now we can see where it goes next.

This was waiting for me when I returned from holiday. I'd hoped to pick it up when I came home briefly between two trips, but unfortunately the post office was closed. It seems hard to believe I've gone so long without reading this series. Now, thanks to a bookcrossing spiral, I'm in. I enjoyed this a lot - there's a lot of subtle humor (Bill the Vampire?) and the heroine is interestingly special. I look forward to receiving the next books!
