I bought this from the Trinity Hospice charity shop in Lytham St Annes a couple of days ago while taking a short break from our energetic dancing holiday on the Lancashire coast. Despite not recognising the title nor the author, I chose it because I enjoy tales from the Tudor court and have a particular interest in Katherine Parr, Henry VIII's sixth wife, the one who became a widow with his death!

This was only OK, disappointingly so, although it did pick up towards good somewhere around the middle .... and I enjoyed it enough to finish it, was never tempted to give up!
I starts in 1543 with the death of Katherine Parr's second husband, Lord John Latymer, follows her through her marriage to Henry VIII, and ends with her own death of childbed fever in 1548, plus an epilogue on the fate of her fourth husband, Thomas Seymour.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Heading to beautiful Scotland with my sister- and brother-in-law who stopped overnight on their way north from the south west! Enjoy :-)

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 more than eleven million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
