Banned book.
#9 in top ten books challenged in 2014. Reason? 'drugs/alcohol/smoking, language, sexually explicit.'
For more information about banned books go to the American Library Association page.
Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped at age 11. 18 years later she resurfaced, after her captor had his parole revoked. This is her account of how she saw her life.
Some people asked 'why didn't she run?' Particularly when in the last 5 years of her captivity, she was allowed a little more freedom (like supervised trips to stores). I never wondered, I was just amazed she survived. That's what the book is about, her survival, and her return to life with determination to make it a good one. I wish her well.
