A lovely advent serial story that we read (in English) leading up to our magical German Christmas. Some older folks may find it too simple and a little trite, but it had enough context and interest to keep our reluctant read-aloud-parent going. Our children made the appropriate 'oooh's' and 'aaah's' along the way. We'd definitely recommend it for any child who has never heard the Christmas story, or who has sung the songs and heard the prose but never really put the people, events and time frames into perspective. It seems aimed at the 6 - 8 year old listener though.

We stumbled upon a book left in the Christmas tree two nights ago and immediately knew what to do with our advent story when we were finished with it (especially as we are still travelling and need to either send items home or carry them on our backs). We truly hope that this English book finds a family excited to read it even if only for advent next year. Just remember to pass it on. With much love from our family through yours....
