I enjoyed this book so much when I read it a couple weeks ago that I was happy to find another copy to offer as a gift.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Letters from well- and lesser-known "celebrities" to their cats. Most profess their unconditional love; a few highlight the behavioral issues that they could do without. All are heartwarming. I laughed and cried. Some wonderful photos!

Alluring, elusive, mysterious—the cats in our lives are not always easy to get to know. But as with all pets, they have unique personalities and stories to tell. Alongside beautiful four-color photos of their cats, A Letter to My Cat collects personal letters from celebrities offering love and gratitude for all that their cats bring to their lives.

Thanks so much for this charming book! The cat-pics alone are delightful, and the letters are very sweet. I recognized a number of the contributors, including chef Anne Burrell (whose letter includes an account of her cat, Puddy, dropping a mouse in her bed - I've had cats do that!), Jackson Galaxy (from the My Cat From Hell cat-psychology TV show), iconic burlesque dancer and fashionista Dita Von Teese (whose cat got the most dramatic photo, very appropriate), and comic actor Fred Willard.

There are lots of "rescue" cats, and at least one who rescued his owner by calling attention to a medical condition. There's a cat who was saved by a US soldier on duty in Afghanistan, another who's become a web celebrity and object of much scientific interest due to a very unusual set of mutations, and many more. And, again, the photographs are marvelous - charming, funny, poignant...

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I left this book, bagged against the elements, on the charming mother-and-child statue at around 3; hope the finder enjoys it! [I tucked a newspaper article about animal-shelter pets available for adoption into the book, just in case the finder might be looking for a new pet {wry grin}.]
