My kris kringle book received at the Christmas meetup.
Finally read this and thoroughly enjoyed the easy read. Sookie, a well brought up southern belle suddenly discovers she was adopted. Her life is turned upside down when she learns she was born illegitimate to a Polish girl from the northern states.
She struggles to deal with the news, taking to her bed, then seeking counselling, avoiding her adoptive mother and eventually coming to terms with her new status.
