From the back cover:

"In an endeavour to come to terms with her past, Jane Townsend travels overseas armed with eight BookCrossing books to release in three different continents.

"But after crossing paths with Jeremy Braithwaite her life starts to unravel and it is up to several other BookCrossers to trace her movements through her virtual bookshelf and find her before it is too late..."

I bought this book to celebrate my 4000 registered bookcrossing books! TBR and reserved as a RABCK for slipperbunny next :)

I'm a bookcrosser and I would have liked to love this book as much as I love bookcrossing, but unfortunately this book was a great disappointment. I became annoyed while reading this book.

The thickness of the book shocked me when I saw it for the first time. I would have liked to read the story in much more compact form, now there were too many books and characters, too much dialogue - the amount of countries and continents also made me confused. I certainly had difficulties to follow the characters which had similar voices. The love affairs didn't sound believable at all, and the whole book described bookcrossing as travelling, making themed releases all over the world and hunting for intimate relationships. The bookcrossers were described as 'serious' and 'profound' analytical readers, as literature professionals, not 'ordinary' people. Unfortunately this book doesn't offer a realistic picture of bookcrossing for someone who doesn't know what bookcrossing is about.

This book is so thick and heavy, that I try to find a courier from Tampere to Helsinki to get it to slipperbunny. I'm interested to know how she'll like this ;)

I was a bit annoyed with this too. Mostly because I couldn't stand Jane and Jeremy and their relationship. But I liked some parts of the story and I think this made me again excited about wild releases. But otherwise this book was a disappointment.

This is going to Tarya next.

I got this wishlist book of mine today at the local BC meet-up in Sanomatalo. It's a thick one but a "must" for a bookcrosser, of course :D Thank you, slipperbunny!

Unfortunately this really wasn’t my cup of tea either. There was so much going on that first I got confused and then I just stopped caring about what happens to whom. I agree with lukutuoli that the book doesn’t give a realistic picture of Bookcrossing to a novice. In fact, I hardly recognised ”my” Bookcrossing from it even though I’ve been around for a while already. I guess the most interesting bit for me was at the end when in the acknowledgements the author states that she did the research for this book in 2004-2006. I started Bookcrossing in 2007 so maybe this all was just before my time :D I truly hope that I’ll never be analysed by my journal entries!!

DNF after 80+ pages. The concept of Bookcrossing novel is great, but sadly this lacks in execution. Scrappy & implausible.

Received today at the genealogy event - thank you, Mecu! I would love to love this book, but doesn't look promising when I read the comments of the previous readers. We'll see what I make of it.
