I picked up this paperback at Barnes and Noble, in honor of the season. It's another entry in the punny, wacky adventures of Meg Langslow and her increasingly-extended (and increasingly-loony) family.

This was another entertaing holiday-themed mystery, with a carefully-selected Unpleasant Victim whose murder threatens the success of this year's "decorator showcase" house - a house whose history has a lot to do with the crime in one way or another.

There are so many characters in the series now that it's hard for any of them besides Meg to get much time, and even she spends much of her time coordinating the activities of everybody else. There are some lovely touches re holidays - Michael's in-character readings from Dickens, the holiday pageants at the different churches and schools, the widely-varying holiday decorations in the showcase house itself - and plenty of humor, but this isn't a series for a lot of deep character development!
