Hurrah! This book arrived safely here in Kathmandu! Thank you so much for sending it, Poodlesister -- this is one I've really been looking forward to reading! And I especially appreciate your sending it so far again after the last book didn't make it. So kind of you! The accompanying card of kitty sleeping on books is also adorable.

I haven't had this book for very long, but have already finished it, even though I read it slowly. This is a gentle, simple little book where on the surface not much happens, but yet there is a lot of human depth and feeling, as well as beautiful, insightful descriptions of nature and daily life.

Note: I'd recommend not reading the jacket/flap. It doesn't really represent the book accurately and sort of clouds what you expect going in.

The cat has reached some remote village in the Himalayan foothills. Thanks a lot!

A beautiful quiet novella, about a cat and the impact it had on two people. It took me a few pages to get into it, found it overly descriptive, a bit too detailed in the beginning - but soon I couldn't put it down. Loved it.
