Just received this book today, 27th November 2015, as a total surprise!!!! I'm SOOO pleased as it's been on my wish list for a while now and I've been wanting to read this forever!!!! THANK YOU!!

This is a very interesting read!! It starts with Edith's impoverished upbringing with circus acrobat father and drug addict/alcoholic mother who abandoned her and takes you through her singing on the streets in Pigalle, Paris through her discovery and success...... including the hangers on and Edith's own addictions with drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately her drug use seems to have hastened her untimely death in her late 40s - but what a story!
