great time travel book involving a set of twins Eric and Sean. They both start in the present, or Time Zero. Eric goes back 5 min. and Sean goes forward 5 min. Then Eric goes to +50min and Sean -50min. They continue alternating back and forth like this (like a pendulum) till they make it to both ends of time. Great book, nice and short. Something you could read in just a few hours.

2004 Book #12: Project Pendulum by Robert Silverburg

I'll preface by saying I don't like short stories. Short stories leave me wanting more. There's usually so many things that need detail that isn't detailed!

What do short stories have to do with "Project Pendulum"? It feels like Silverberg took a short story and padded it a little to make it into a nearly 200 page book. Although it's not really 200 because some 50 pages are lost just labeling which swing of the "pendulum" the next 3 pages are going to cover.

I think the book is a great premise but I just wish less time had been spent on how many years were between the character and the beginning of the experiment and between him and his identical twin. It could have been so much more!

Release planned for Sunday, February 29, 2004 at Alamo Plaza in San Antonio, Texas USA.

Since the Bookcrossing mission for this weekendend pertains to the leap year, and time as topics, what better book to release than a book where the two characters LEAP back and forth through TIME!

I'll be leaving this book at the Alamo, most likely on top of the well in the courtyard next to that really old massive tree. Good luck!
