1983, a upper middle class suburban style mom is found nude, dead in her bathtub. She had suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, been dragged around her house, gotten many bruises before death, and her husband only had very lame explanations for her drowning in 8 inches of water. The book is written by a friend of the victim many years later.
What makes this worth reading is the re-creation of the attitudes and prejudices of the solid middle class in the 1980s. All moms were at home if they could be, all houses are immaculate, you are community minded with your friends, and stay in shape. In this case, by jogging in a running club.
Fly far little book!
