Thanks for sending this for my aunt. I have quite a pile so they are going in to her gradually. Brook crossers are the best :-)

This book has come back to me after its trip to the care home, thanks again for sharing :-)
8 Jan 17 - The first couple of chapters of this book, I wasn't sure about, but it picked up and I found myself compelled to read. It's not easy reading though, the town of Wind Gap has a lot of skeletons in the cupboard, and the teenagers get up to things I would not have even dreamed of at the same age. The thing that surprised me most was the fact that Curry actually sent her back to report on the murders, as it turns out he was there to support her when she needed it the most. An interesting read that was a good distraction.

Loved this book! What a great read by an author that isn't afraid to write. Great storyline, characters all good. I agree that the first chapter didn't really work, it was quite a dull start and confusing - it felt that Camille is not really that settled in Chicago and without knowing the geography and detail of certain states, some of the references were lost on me. Apart from that minor gripe, the rest of the book is brilliant. A real page turner.

Wind Gap has its share of awful people, that must be said! The writing is a bit raw and the story is gruesome. I don't think any of the characters was undamaged, it was more like total carnage. However I still liked this, but not as much as Gone Girl and Dark Places.
