This luck little book has become part of the Manga/Comic/Graphic Novel Relay Game: Round II! :D

Hopefully, someone will give this book a chance. I know it has a hockey title and convert but it's actually very entertaining. I read it twice! ;)

And admittedly, I intentionally put ones in the book boxes and relays and such that people
would pass right by in the store without giving a chance, but I know we're actually pretty good books.

But they got stuck with a bad title or a sucky cover. So they are pretty much relegated to the to the "Never Never land" pile. So I try to resurrect them and get people to give them a chance. :)

Since the relay envelope has been here so long I have read this book. I thought the illustrations quirky and the prayers chosen humorous in the way they were collected and presented. Though they were probably posted in earnest to the internet by their original creators.

I am going to put this back into the relay package along with my co tribute on to send th GoreyDetails next week.

Sending this on it's way with another book to the next player in the manga/graphic novel relay game.

(The Manga/Graphic-Novel relay package arrived a few days ago, and I'd hoped to be able to move it along sooner, but I still haven't heard back from the next in line.)

I'm keeping this little book, which is... odd {wry grin}; I suspect that most, if not all, of the entries here were originally meant sincerely, but without more context on the authors I'm not sure whether amusement, sorrow, or outright dread is more appropriate! Some of the ones that tickled me most:

"Please pray that we will get buyers for our parrots as soon as possible." [Again, context could affect this one - at first I thought it might be from a mom-and-pop pet store, but then I began to wonder if it was from a bird-smuggler who feared getting stuck with illegally-trapped parrots. Maybe I'm over-thinking this.]

This one is used as the caption for illustrations of the Heimlich maneuver, which does put a different, "be careful what you wish for" complexion on the prayer:

"Please pray that God would engineer lots of situations to bring me and her close together."

"Pray God fixes my computer!!! I went on a Christian Prayer site and a virus overtook my computer. My computer is getting worse and worse and it might be useless by Tomorrow." [Extra irony points for this one.]

Quite a few of the entries here suggest some sort of relationship or other personal-life issues for which a counselor, psychologist, or at least a really good advice columnist might be a better option than prayer!

I left this book, bagged against the elements, on a bench on the common at around 3; hope the finder enjoys it!
