This is a proof copy made available at the Harrogate History Festival, October 2015, of a novel due for publication in May 2016, the first of a new series under the umbrella title: Six Tudor Queens. I've enjoyed several of Ms Weir's books and, to be perfectly honest, I think I prefer her histories to her historical fiction, but there's a time and a place for both and I look forward to working my way through this huge trade paperback when it gets to the top of the reading piles ....

The retelling of a familiar tale, very much from Katherine's point of view ... worthy rather than outstanding .... fairly standard Tudor fiction ....

9.5.17: I've now acquired a copy of the second book in the series, the one featuring Anne Boleyn.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

To my friend and neighbour who BookCrosses as Blower! Happy Christmas!

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 more than eleven million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!

Sorry I haven't registered this sooner. This was passed to me before Christmas 2015 from my friend and neighbour Nu-Knees.
Since I have just read Philippa Gregory's 'Three Sisters, Three Queens' I thought I should keep with the Tudor theme and read this now. However Jacqueline Winspear and Laurie Graham have jumped the queue. Sorry Katherine!

Journal Entry 5 by Blower at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Saturday, May 26, 2018
I recently saw/heard Alison Weir at York Library talking about her new book about Jane Seymour, the third Tudor queen.
This motivated me to return to Katherine and read this rather large book!
I enjoyed the book and the historical content. However it was rather long!

Am I ready for Anne now or should I have a break and read something else?
