For better or worse, Enid Blyton's books are not part of my childhood memories. Unless I find time to read Blyton, I will never know if I'm lucky to have escaped her powerful clutches or if I was deprived. The question does not seem pressing at this time as far as I am concerned. I do know The Famous Five are often passionately remembered by adults who grew up in the United Kingdom or in many of the British Commonwealth countries. Children seem to enjoy the Famous Five here, though the series is not in the mainstream. So I have decided to share my copy of this book.
