LEAVING GREEN GABLES. Anne awoke to find raindrops pattering against her window, and the whole world seemed gray and dreary. As she dressed in the cheerless gray dawn, she struggled against the tears that welled up in her eyes in spite of herself. She was leaving the home that was so dear to her, and something told her she was leaving it forever.
Things would never be the same again. And oh, how dear and beloved everything was-the white porch room, the old Snow Queen at the window, the brook in the hollow, the Dryad's Bubble, the Haunted Wood and Lover's Lane-all the thousand and one dear spots where memories of the old years bided. Could she ever be really happy anywhere else?

Just got a book box this morning with 8 books from Anne of Green Gables series. As a big fan of Anne i must say a big thank you to Weeder for her generosity :D
Lovely, it was about time she realised she loved Gilbert!
I agree that their "romance" was rather drawn out but sometimes it's "love at first sight" and other times it has to percolate for a while.
