I enjoyed Volume 1 of this series, and ordered this volume from Barnes and Noble to see if I like the way the story continues. It's about a world in which the creation of clay golems by magic is a key factor, and where our young hero, a golem-making prodigy, and his supportive trio of human-like golems must fend off jealous rivals.

This volume reveals more about Clay's forgotten past, as well as the truth behind the creation of Kurogane and Shirogane - and its connection to the tragic deaths of Clay's beloved older brothers. We also get to see Clay at work repairing a family's gigantic golem, one that is the beloved "nursemaid" to a little girl but which seems to have war-like tendencies as well.

The nasty black-market golem-dealer turns up again too, this time intending to destroy all that belongs to Clay while stealing Clay himself in order to use his specially-powered blood. Can Rose, Shirogane, and Kurogane defend him against this powerful foe?

This volume ends with a promise by Shirogane and Kurogane to reveal all they know of the events that Clay has forgotten...
