This is pretty old now but still an enjoyable read. Written with warmth and humour. A lovely portrait of Ireland and an alternative piece of travel writing.

Amusing. A bit dated at times, but doesn't really matter. I liked it.

A nice little read. Unfortunately the book itself is falling apart so I will try to mend it so that it will be able to continue on its travels.

I was very pleased to find this book during my one-day-paris-holiday in the Parisian OBCZ today and I am looking forward to reading it. Thank you very much :)! (it is now travelling with me to Wuppertal, Germany, where I live)

Journal Entry 10 by Colombina at Wuppertal, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Thursday, July 14, 2016

I am currently reading it and I just want to express my happiness and gratitude for having this book here as a few weeks ago the new fridge I bought last year (my personal major financial catastrophe of 2015) did not work any more... Fortunately, as I had bought it not so long ago, I did not have to pay anything but replacing it took for some mysterious reasons about four weeks... And my cat is very ill and her medecine has to be kept cold and of course it was summertime... I have the luck to have very kind neighbours who helped me but it was still a very hard time and I really have a problem with fridges now - so I am happy that this book helps me to overcome my fridge trauma ;-)!
I will travel to Amsterdam on Saturday and will certainly release it there so that it can see yet another country.
added on 17th July: I love the humour of the people who do not take themselves too seriously and enjoyed reading about Tony's adventures very much - from the fridge party to romantic scenes in the dog house...

Found at a bus stop near the Rijksmuseum, this charming little story of travel, roughing it and human kindness was a welcome and fitting read for the first leg of my journey through parts of Europe.

Just finished it on the bus from Amsterdam to Brussels, so keep an eye out for it there!
