A heart-wrenching but deeply funny and ultimately uplifting story of family, love, loyalty, and hope--a captivating look at the wonders and absurdities of human life . . . as only a dog could tell it.
I found this book in a Little Free Library and it looked so good.

OK - I had great anxiety and anger during part of the book but I stuck with it and had a good cry near the end. It really touched my heart. Interesting telling the story from a dog's perspective. Made me smile often.
I am returning this to the September meeting at Cravings.
Picked up this book at the Calgary BookCrossing September meet-up. This book had me at "told from the dog's perspective".
I blew through this book in about two days. It's just that good. Enzo is such a compelling narrator and he's all the more interesting because he's a dog. He sees so much but he can't communicate anything that he's thinking. Some parts of the book are a little frustrating, but it comes from good storytelling and not bad writing. Now I want to hug a dog...
Passing on this book to the next reader at the Calgary BookCrossing October meet-up.
Picked up at the October meeting.

Taking to the November meet up for the "practically perfect in every way" theme. In my books dog narrators are practically perfect in every way. I cried twice, this book was so beautiful.

I really loved this book, especially the dog's outlook on life and racing.
Highly recommended. Read with a box of tissues.

Bringing to the Calgary February BookCrossing meetup.
Picked up at the February meet up of Calgary BookCrossers, held at Cravings Market Restaurant.
I read most of this book at my Dad's bedside, in the hospital. My emotions were already raw, but I wanted to hug Enzo and then go home and hug my own dog.
What an emotional roller-coaster and unique perspective. I want to recommend this special book to everyone!

Picked up at get together
This was a very well written book. I loved that it was from the dog's point of view, and how he would interpret different events. Also just how much he loved and how determined he was to come back in the next life. At one point I got quite upset with some of the characters and put the book down for a little bit - but in hindsight that just shows how well written it was because I had gotten involved in the story and the hardships the different characters went through. I also loved the ending and how they brought everything together.
Thanks for a great read!

Taken to get together!
Picked up from the July Calgary BookCrossing Meeting.
I finished this in two days but could have probably finished it in one day if I didn’t take so many breaks to hug my dog. I was afraid I would be shedding tears throughout the book, but they were happy tears.
I am bringing this book to the September Calgary Bookcrossing Meeting.
Grabbed this book outta the first book box we have making its way though the group.
Not something I normally would have grabbed, as I have no interest in NASCAR. But this was more a story about family than about NASCAR.
And of course it has a great dog in it.

Releasing into Book box #2
I am dismantling Book Box 2 as we are back to in person meetings. Books will be sorted and bagged up for either a person who requested it or to the person who introduced it to the group. Please help me out if you can by making arrangements to collect your books. I have enough of my own books to deal with so please wild release or give away your own books as I don't have the capacity right now.
