A wonderful fantasy that follows the fate of Gabriel, a young boy from a well-off family in the city, who witnesses but does not dare to help a woman from a wild tribe who is attacked and left dying by a group of men. He picks up the talisman that she had lost in the struggle, but tells no-one about the attack he witnessed, or of the dreams or visions he has that seem to be linked to the talisman. But despite his self-perceived cowardice on the night of the attack, he finds the courage to stand up to the expectations of his overbearing relatives and pursue a path that he chooses for himself, which eventually brings him into conflict with his own city and once more into the presence of members of the wild tribe.
