The mood and method of this thriller seem ripped from, or ripe for, TV's "Law and Order." Johnston tells nearly all early, and then keeps you completely engrossed in watching the hunt for a murderer and a missing child in Manhattan as the past and the present come together. The writing is spare but the characters matter as the plot races on.

sent to my sister Linda in PA. There is a story behind why I bought this book and why it had to go to my sister. When I was a child I met a young man, Ricky Foster. Through the years we became lifelong friends and lovers until he passed away at age 56. Rick was wheelchair bound from age 5 and yet lived a full life. He married 4 times and had a son. We had a music company together and produced a couple CD's of our own with songs written by Rick. I am hoping my sister will leave the book in a coffee shop in Erie, PA where we lived and someone who knew Rick will find the book and come back here to journal the find. If you do you may remember me as Bonita Rivas.

The cover looks very interesting and the back reads very scary!! Can't wait to get into it!

This is a very exciting book. A page turner from beginning to end. Suspensefilled and full of action. You won't put it down.

frightening book with a rewarding ending

The book was sent to me with a good recommendation from another town not far away. I've read the first couple pages and it grabs your attention.
