So I read on Amazon that 'Ann Gadd is an artist, a writer, a Reiki Master, a footologist, and a transformational counselor and speaker. She is the creator and facilitator of Create Yourself Art Workshops, which delve into the transformative power art can have on the mind-body connection.'

Then I look on her website and find that her painting is.. all kinds of everything, including sheep on red hills with each sheep painting bearing some pithy phrase designed to appeal the various viewing and purchasing publics.

Then I read in the book about the author's various exploits around the world of art and her various sage advicings, one of which is that she recommends an author to have about £100,000 (yes, I got the number of zeros right - I counted them) in the marketplace at any one time, so that when they sell about 10% in any one month they will have an income of £10,000 to cover their living expenses and such.

Then I read the section about copyright and her advice that it's not nice to copy the work of other artists, even if you feel you could do a good job of it!

..and I thought 'Damn! I'm sure I could have painted me some really fine sheep!!'

But seriously - if you're looking to start out in the art world, you couldn't start with a better book than this.

If I might be so bold as to add to the veritable smörgåsbord contained in this volume; just a little piece of advice from my own experience: if you want to make money from art - just read one book (this one will do) and then get on with it. Don't read a further 19 books on the same subject and think you're making good progress; 'cause you ain't.
