Who doesn't know the famous Commissario Brunetti? I enjoyed reading this "intriguing mystery with an alluring backdrop of a corrupt and aristocratic Venice"
Enjoy!

Got this book from the February MeetUp @Pickwick's. I had gotten another Donna Leon mystery book in the fall and enjoyed it, so I'm looking forward to another Commissario Brunetti tale.
Thanks for the Donna Leon!

Another easy read from Donna Leon. I'm beginning to find the fact that it's all in American English quite annoying, which is stupid really, but things taking "a half hour" instead of "half an hour" really grate with me. But other than that ridiculous complaint, there was really nothing wrong with it - not a great modern classic, but a perfectly readable detective story.
Oh, maybe one thing: you can tell when a writer is panicking a bit when they start to include new characters with most convenient knowledge or skills, like a brother who just happens to be a specialist in radiation poisoning. When a character like that gets shoe-horned in (typically for one book only), you know that they (or their knowledge) are crucial to the plot. Oops, I've given it away.

A good mystery story with a surprising and clever ending, and very well written. This did not take me long!
