Miss Hildreth Wore Brown: Anecdotes of a Southern Belle
1 journaler for this copy...
This is one of a stack of books grabbed (literally) at a church yard sale in Suffolk, VA. I pulled into the parking and started to browse a couple of minutes before the posted closing time of the event. At the posted time, the pastor yelled out that we could grab stuff for free, else whatever remained was going to Goodwill. I'd have grabbed even more than I did, except I took a minute to confirm that I had heard correctly, and I still had to mind my nieces who were more interested in rampaging the toy and game section than the book section. I did donate the spending limit I set before getting out of the car, but still made out like a bandit.
This is a fun collection of short essays from the old south, well worth reading.
