A Scots Quair: Sunset Song, Cloud Howe, Grey Granite

A lovely book that I am setting free with some regret, as it is a beautiful volume. But it's available from the library, I'm trying to stop hoarding books, and I don't see myself getting to it quickly.
Passed along to a fellow Bookcrosser at today's meetup.
Yes, I'm trying to stop hoarding books too, but somehow this one just seemed to stay in my hand. Thank you for sharing, Flewry!
I enjoyed this because it gave me the chance to experience life in a time and place I will never physically visit. Using the Scottish terms underscored this aspect, although it was a bit disconcerting at the beginning. Well worth the read.
The first section of the book was my favorite, since it focused on the everyday life of the main character. The second section was my least favorite; neither the characters nor the setting really engaged my sympathy. The final section was a step back up, since we got a look at how the tides of history influenced the characters' lives.
But that's just one person's opinion. Future readers, what do YOU think?
