St Vladimir's Academy isn't just any boarding school - hidden away, it's a place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St Vladimir's.

Young, good-looking adults with special powers going to a special school where a girl with a bond gets a cool, quiet and older mentor to teach her how to fight. Sound familiar? Yes, in many ways - but a decent, non-surprising YA novel was just what my flue-tired brains needed. :)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Next reader has this book on her wishlist, as she kindly told me already in last August after seeing my TBR pile. :) Enjoy!
I wished this also in 2011. =D Thank you, my tbr-pile has too little YA or vampire novels right now.
I love fantasy YA drama and this was a good first volume. I didn't love the main character, but I liked the story and the other characters.
Going to send this to a another bookcrosser in Netherlands. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for sending me this, Slipperbunny!
