Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors. Ashley Bell shows flashes of this brilliance, but because of a rambling and convoluted storyline and numerous plot holes, it ultimately winds up a disappointment.

While it's not one of his best works, Ashley Bell still shows what makes Dean Koontz such a successful author. His protagonist is usually believable. The story, while too long, disjointed, and overwrought, still shows that creativity and imagination which made me fall in love with his writing so many years ago. I almost gave up on reading the book , but decided that since this is a new (2015) book, I would invest the time to finish it. The second half got better. If you're new to his writing however, I suggest you start with some of his earlier books before you tackle this one.
