This good condition paperback was given to me by my friend Audrey D. for bookcrossing. I have already read and enjoyed another copy of this book so am registering this one to pass on to a friend. The cover illustration differs from the one shown on this page.

From the back cover:- Troy Phelan is a self-made billionaire, one of the richest men in the USA. He is also eccentric, reclusive, confined to a wheelchair and looking for a way to die.

Nate O'Riley is a high-octane Washington litigator who's lived too hard, too fast, for too long. Emerging from his 4th stay in rehab he knows returning to the real world is always difficult, but this time it's going to be murder.

Rachel Lane is a young woman who chose to give her life to God, who walked away from the modern world with all its trappings and went to live and work with a primitive tribe of Indians in the jungles of Brazil.

In a story that mixes legal suspense with a remarkable adventure their lives are forever altered by the startling secret of The Testament."

Could this be the one that finally tempts me to read John Grisham ?

Journal Entry 4 by snoopy56 at Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby, Norfolk United Kingdom on Monday, February 4, 2019
I finally finished this book at the second attempt. When I first started it I didn’t get very far when I got annoyed with the silly names that the author had given a lot of the characters (mostly the heirs of Troy Phelan). So having decided to give it another go I managed to get past that particular niggle but it turns out that the silly names were the most interesting things about those particular characters. The best bits of the book were when Nate O’Riley goes out into the Panatal in search of the missionary who is the principal beneficiary of Troy Whelan’s estate. This is the second book I’ve read that is partly set in the Panatal - the other being Ann Patchett’s “State of Wonder”.
