[Ring] The Perfect Bride for Mr. Darcy

Bought second hand because I read EVERY Austen spinoff ;-)
"It is obvious to Georgiana Darcy that the lovley Elizabeth Bennet is her brother's perfect match, but Darcy's pigheadedness and Elizabeth's wounded pride are going to keep them both from the love of their lives.
Georgiana can't let that happen, so she readily garees to help her accommodating cousin Anne de Bough, do erery within their power to assure her beloved brother's happiness.
But the path of matchmaking never runs smoothly..."

I liked this Pride & Prejudice Variation a lot. It is definately one of the better one!
In the beginning I thought the story stick to the original, but than some people started to act differently, so the story changes a little bit.
I liked this Lizzy and this Darcy, they stayed in their role and I never thought they acted wrong for me.
And I liked the way Georgiana and Anne had a part in this story and both had a nice and comprehensible character. Very often I think our picture of those two are very much affected by the way they are shown in the movies, but the original book leaves a lot of it open.
And the book leads us to a good explanation why Wickham runs of with Lydia. That question stays unanswered in the original for me.
I had a lot of fun reading this book and would read other variations of Mary Simonsen any time :-)
If you like it's going to be a ring.

Just what I needed. Started last night and am enjoying it a lot!
Three bedtime reads later...
I'm done and it was fun! Do you have more from this author, Rochester?
There were a few minor inconsistencies in the plot but nothing that spoiled the pleasure.
And I'm doubting a passage in the text, where children were envisioned playing pirates and knights (p.54 "Boys always wanted to be pirates with eye patches, earrings, and swords.") Is that really Victorian??
I was googling for breeches vs. trousers but could not find good pics explaining the difference. Somehow the latter are less revealing ;D

Since earlier today on its way to tourvel :o)
