Terrific book! I really enjoyed reading about Kinsey's adventures and following through all the twists and turns. There's something about Sue Grafton's writing that really appeals.

Journal Entry 6 by Hawkette from Ballarat, Victoria Australia on Saturday, January 29, 2005
Have got to this one at last, and am managing to read them in order! Kinsey and her piecing together of how things happened, and how did what when...at her best. I love when she is collecting the information, and gives you enough to work it out, but I never do! I admit, I did skim the last 50 pages of this one, but it always all fits into place nicely. Although, having said that, there was a lot of personal stuff thrown at Kinsey this episode, with so much left undone, unexplored, unexplained. Certainly has me keen for the next installment. I hope the cousins become a part of Kinsey's world - will be good for her! I have passed this one on to TramGirl today, along with I.

Another Kinsey adventure! I liked that we got to learn more about Kinsey and the family she didn't know existed...it will be interesting to see if they feature in future books. I totally didn't guess the outcome of this book at all, am I ever going to 'pick' the ending!? This is to be passed on to Bookfrog tonight when I fly up to Sydney for Jess' wedding. She will pass them on to Fushmush and they'll be back on track.

Journal Entry 9 by BookFrog from Albion Park, New South Wales Australia on Sunday, March 27, 2005
Where to start? All the information is laid out and the pieces are there but getting them to fit together. Again Kinsey lays her life on the line but at least she got paid for most of it. I can't remember if I have read this one but I do remember her finding her family. All her life she has figured herself alone and then when investigating one family discovers she has one of her own. Whether to accept them or just continue with the life she has is the question. J is for Judgement is particular apt as she has to use her judgement at all times. Lots of questions still arise at the end of this book, not all neatly put together. Off to FushMush

Another great read from Grafton. I particularly liked the twist at the end. I also liked how there is a mystery in Kinsey's own life. Can anyone tell me what the cover art is supposed to be? An anchor chain? What does it have to do with the story apart from the role boats play in the plot? Should send this one, along with I is for Innocent, on to Skyring this week.

This one wasn't so much a mystery as an adventure. I liked the way that families ran through this story. Three families. And I finally got to meet tantan. Tantan the bride. Naturally we called our table at the trivia night "The Honeymooners". And we won! This time I was lucky enough to be in the company of some truly amazing minds. Thirteen year old Toxic, for example, who reeled off a string of facts about Brisbane and had to be restrained from putting her hand up for any more prizes so that other people could get a look in. I enjoyed the Convention immensely. I've been to four now, and they were all a blast, each one different in its own way, but all of them had one thing in common - it was great to meet so many wonderful people. Oh yes, the book. This one was just a bit different, and just as enjoyable as all the others. I'm running out of the series, and I'll be very sorry when it ends.

I remember reading this, but I can't for the life of me remember what happened in it. However, I'm sure I enjoyed it. Unfortunately I finished it while I was in the middle of two house moves, and it obviously went into that box that you find six months later with all those things you couldn't find in it. I am madly hunting for this box, and as soon as I find it the book will head off to luckaye along with Q and R. :-) *** Edit October 30th, 2005: I've found the elusive box, and have posted this to luckaye yesterday.

Ah, another charming adventure with Ms Millhone! The usual twists and turns, the usual compulsive page turning, the usual amusing sass from Kinsey. This one did fall apart a bit on contemplation afterwards: Wendell Jaffe was never really consistent enough to be believable; and the subplot with the Lompoc Kinseys was never resolved (and, although I've read K is for Killer, I can't remember if it is resolved in later books!). And no Rosie, and barely enough Henry! I do love the uncertainty of the ending however, I find it very intriguing (in a good way) when crime novels aren't nicely wrapped up. I have astro2480's address already, so shall pop this one in the post tomorrow.
