Picked up cheaply, especially for April's 'Politics'-themed BC Meetup in York.

As I unfortunately wasn't able to get to that in the end, I plan to release it at May's Meetup instead...

Published just before September 11th 2001, for a while the horrible irony of that put me off reading this. It turns out to be a pretty inspiring book, for all the grimness of the era it covers.
This is comedian / Socialist Worker Party activist Mark Steel's memoir of being leftwing under Thatcher, Major, and the less-than-right-on Labour governments to either side. He's alert to both how important left-wing activism was in this period, and also to how absurd it often was. Thought-provoking and laugh-out-loud funny.
Take-home message: you can make more of a difference by continuing to campaign than by staking it all on the election results.
