Read in 1 sitting, I loved this superb take on the Greek myths, giving a voice to Penelope, wife of Odysseus, who ran his kingdom, while waiting for him to return from the Trojan War.
Classed as "clever" but never described as beautiful, probably due to living in the shadow of her stunningly beautiful, and very vain cousin, Helen of Troy, Penelope's intelligence is pushed to its limits in finding ploys to ward off the numerous suitors - all fighting to be first in the line to marry her and take possession of Odysseus's kingdom.
Margaret Atwood is a beautiful storyteller.

Really enjoyed this take on this myth, particularly the humorous & often sarcastic tone of Penelope's storytelling - & while I'm not a fan of poetry I even loved the offerings from the Chorus Line. Thanks for sharing KB ad item of a book that I would've picked up otherwise :o)
