Lila has PTSD, from being wounded at a shooting in her office. All she really wants is to find out "why" Yuri did what he did. And, oh yeah, she hates dogs. Grace is a very abused Golden Retriever who ends up in Lila's care, while searching for someone to give her a "forever" home.

The first 100 pages of this book upset me, and I almost didn't finish it. It was just the way Lila treated Grace, who only wanted someone to love her. I love animals, and it broke my heart to read this. Of course, things finally take a turn for the better, but I wasn't happy.

I could only give this book 3 stars in my review at Goodreads. A neutral rating, at best.
