The Perks of Being a Wallflower
2 journalers for this copy...
One of a pile of books a colleague gave me.
I'd vaguely heard of this book (probably due to the film version), but didn't really know anything about it, so had very few preconceptions coming in. At first I thought the character was written way too young for his years, but then I remembered back to how naive I was at that age, and realised the author probably got it pretty right actually (especially as the story developed, and you start to understand more of his background and maybe some of the reasons for his childishness). The book is difficult and disturbing in places, but definitely worth reading.
