A recent bookgroup read. I thought this book was excellent. A real eye-opener about an Eastern European migrant to the UK, his struggle for work and his homesickness as he begins to understand his new home, yet desperately missing his family and friends. Beautifully written, I especially liked the memories of 'home' and the intial journey as Lev travels by coach across Europe.

Released 8 yrs ago (5/5/2015 UTC) at Fox and Raven Pub in Chelmsford, Essex United Kingdom
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taking to the bookcrossing meet at The Fox & Raven, Chelmsford
Not picked up at the Fox & Raven pub in May, so I brought it home again. Now it goes into a 'care package' for another bookcrosser. For reading or onward releasing.
Sent to me in a fantastic RABCK parcel :))) Thank you!
I read one Tremain a few years ago and wasn't at all taken by it. But this sounds interesting, if not just for comparison with a couple of others in the genre. We'll see!
UPDATE: I realised that I had started this book some time back; possibly a Book Group choice. I found the beginning too depressing to continue :( I hope the finder manages to get past that!
