Gibson has a writing style that's just a little difficult to follow - edgy, you could call it. It suits his books very well, because usually most of his characters aren't aware of all that's going on all around them. So reader and character together set off together, perhaps nervously, on a voyage of discovery.
I don't think this is as good as 'Neuromancer,' but it still interested me, and surprised me quite often. It also shows off something I hadn't really noticed before, how very good Gibson is at creating visual images that are so startling they burrow right into your permanent memory. With 'Neuromance' it was his vision of cyberspace, which has influenced just about every subsequent writer who's tackled the subject. Here there are some things very new, very different - I won't go any further, so you'll have the fun of discovering them.
But this is just one person's opinion. Future readers, what do YOU think of this book?
