Yes, this is weird. I read it just now for the second time, and liked it a bit more. Maybe it grows on you :-) Southpaw is a derogatory term for left-handed. There's a sympathetic absurdity about the tiger's escapades.
In Kirjan vuosi 2015 challenge this is my number 5 (not all characters human). On top of the tiger there's a robot, too.

What an awfully sad story! Weird, yes, but oh so enchanting! I loved the vibrant lines and simple pages full of life, even if the robots were a very weird combination with the tigers... Any of the pages would do as a piece of art on my walls!
