Dining alone in an elegant Parisian brasserie, accountant Daniel Mercier can hardly believe his eyes when President François Mitterrand sits down to eat at the table next to him.

The President's Hat book stood in Palkintokaappi (trophy cabinet VBB) last autumn and was picked up by ruzena. It took me quite a while to get it in the mail. Sorry for that. Happy reading!

What is this object: It travels from person to person, rather by chance than purposedly, thus connecting people who maybe never meet, touching their lives and bringing delight?
No.
It is President Mitterrand's hat.
The story mixes fact and fiction in a whimsical yet easy-to-read way.
I seldom read feel-good books, I just prefer gloominess and tragedy. But this was a delightful read, witty, skilful in construction, with detective twist, and with a surprise in the end where president Mitterrand proves to be a true diplomat.
