This is the second of the Thursday Next series. In this book, Thursday finds out that her husband no longer exists and she is the only person who has any memory of him as an adult. The Goliath corporation are out for revenge and she becomes an apprentice to Miss Havisham. This is just as confusing and imaginative as the first book.

This is on the way to Czersk!

Journal Entry 3 by Czersk from Roscoe, Minnesota USA on Wednesday, March 24, 2004
I love the mail!! Especially when a book- or better yet- two books come in the mail, like yesterday. Very excited to read Lost In A Good Book. I loved the Eyre Affair and I expect this one to be just as brilliant. THANK YOU Librarie!

Journal Entry 4 by Czersk from Roscoe, Minnesota USA on Saturday, April 3, 2004
I love Thursday Next! She is without a doubt in my top 5 favorite female characters list- possibly number 3- but I'm not in a rating mood at the moment, so I'll leave it at possibly. I cannot wait for The Well of Lost Plots to come in the mail (I think I like bookrings more and more each day). I wish I could be a part of the Literafiction dept. I'd give up my plans to be a book editor in a millasecond, and join forces with Miss Havisham and Thursday. Dream job. Wouldn't Thursday's world be lovely though? I'm especially liking the Willspeak machines.

My mum is currently reading The Eyre Affair, so I think I'll save this book for her. I'll make her journal- don't worry. Then, perhaps, a ray would be nice. I was considering a wild release, but this book is far too good too have it accidently thrown in the garbage (flinch).

Journal Entry 5 by Czersk from Roscoe, Minnesota USA on Sunday, May 16, 2004
I found this book fasinating. You definately have to read The Eyre Affair to be able to comprehend the plot. At first it is hard to follow, but after you get into it you have a hard time putting it down. It would be a very exciting world to live in, but also very confusing. I am looking forward to Thursday's next adventures. I would highly recommend this series to any avid reader with an imagination.

(That was my mum journaling)

I received this as part of a ray today. I am almost finished with The Eyre Affair, then I am reading two books for my mystery book club, then finishing a book from another ring, *then* rewarding myself with further adventures of Thursday Next!

Journal Entry 9 by wingbookhunter21wing from Saint Paul, Minnesota USA on Wednesday, June 30, 2004
I loved this book! Even more imaginative than The Eyre Affair, if that is possible. I love the Jurisfiction agents & wonder how many of my stories are housed in the Well of Lost Plots. Good Luck Thursday!

I'm mailing this tomorrow (Thursday This) to mlbish next on the list. Watch out for those isolated high coincidental localized entropic field encreasements and don't fall for any undedicated dialogue traps!

Journal Entry 10 by mlbish from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Monday, July 12, 2004
Received over the weekend! I have The Eyre Affair lined up to read so I'll be able to do them in order.

Thanks very much for sharing. After all the great reviews, I'm really looking forward to reading them!

Journal Entry 11 by mlbish from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on Tuesday, August 10, 2004
Finished last night.

I thought this one was an improvement over Mr. Fforde's first novel. I didn't think The Eyre Affair was bad, but I felt that there were some things that could have been improved, and it seems like he got a lot closer in this one. The pacing was much better, I thought, and there was not as much stuff crammed into the story.

The Jurisfiction department was really clever. I enjoyed reading about it and seeing all of the fiction characters sort of 'in their real lives.' I laughed and laughed when that blonde little boy came up to Thursday and asked her to draw him a sheep. Hee! I would not mind at all being a Jurisfiction agent. It would be great fun!

I think Mr. Fforde is really funny. I appreciate the side jokes and little bits of humor he inserts into his books.

It wasn't quite clear to me what exactly happened to and with Thursday's father. If this were my book, I'd reread part of it to clear that up, but I'm going to try to pass the book along as soon as I can, so I may not have time.

Don't worry, bookhunter21, I did not run across any dangerous isolated high coincidental localized entropic field increasements although now I have a very ingenious way to detect one if I suspect something, don't I? I thought that was quite cute and funny.

Thanks for sharing this book, Czersk. I've been wanting to read it for quite a while and I was not disappointed.

I'm quite behind in making journal notes! I received this book a couple of weeks ago and have begun it just a few days ago. More later.

Journal Entry 14 by Ramya from Plainsboro, New Jersey USA on Tuesday, September 21, 2004
I LOVE Thursday Next! Paraphrasing the review snippet on the front cover, don’t worry too much about the how’s and when’s – just enjoy the ride. And like mlbish, I was delighted when a “young boy of no more than ten [with] curly golden locks” asked “Please, draw me a sheep”, followed by Miss Havisham’s dry observation, “You had better do as he asks. … Once he starts on you, he’ll never let it go.”

Pickwick sounds like an especially personable companion – I wouldn’t mind being awakened by gentle “plock plocks” next to my bed or greeted at the front door by more voluble, excited “plocks”! I think she could take my two cats in stride, but I could imagine the welcome (NOT!) that they would give her.

One small puzzle for me – on the back cover, the blurb states that among all of her other activities, Thursday learns “the truth about Larry the Lamb”. I missed that, and couldn’t find it by flipping through the book. Could someone enlighten me, please?

Now, can I find a bookring and wait my turn for “The Well of Lost Plots”, or will I have to go to the library for it????

Thursday's off to gwendy either this afternoon, if I can squeeze in a trip to the post office, or this coming Saturday.

Thanks, Czersk, for sharing the fun!

The book made it to Finland and I´ve already started with it...

Journal Entry 19 by aava from Jyväskylä, Keski-Suomi / Mellersta Finland Finland on Friday, May 20, 2005
Thursday Next is my new favourite detective! She´s so cool...And what more a book freak would like to read about than books. Especially the jurisfiction department was wonderfull and I can´t wait to read more about the well of lost plots. That´s were all my pathetic efforts to write fiction are too. And as a consequence of this book I have begun reading The Great expectations.

So, all in all, enjoyable experience, thanks for sharing this book Czersk.

And the book is already (20.5) on its way to Scrawler.

Journal Entry 20 by Scrawler on Friday, June 17, 2005
Sorry about the lack of journaling, but I received it, read it, loved it! I loved the Eure Affair and this one was even better. Can't wait for the next book featuring Thursday Next!
I will pass it on as soon as I figure out whether Zarylia wants it or not...

Journal Entry 21 by Scrawler on Monday, July 4, 2005
Zarylia asked to be skipped so it's on its way to Brujula!

Journal Entry 22 by Brujula from Valenciennes, Nord-Pas-de-Calais France on Friday, July 8, 2005
The book arrived today!
Thank you Czersk and Scrawler!

Journal Entry 23 by Brujula from Valenciennes, Nord-Pas-de-Calais France on Thursday, August 11, 2005
I had a little trouble getting into the first chapters, as they make many references to The Eyre Affair which I haven't read (I joined a ray for the book over a year ago, but it seems to be stuck somewhere in Canada...)
After I got further into the very peculiar world of Thursday Next, I just loved it. This is one of these books you don't want to finish very soon, because you feel so well with it's characters!
I bought my own copy of the Eyre affair over the week-end so I could read the first episode of Thursday Next adventures, and then I'll set on a quest for the following episodes!

Thank you very much, Czersk, for sharing this book!
I'll mail it to rubyjules as soon as I have his/her adress (I had no answer to my first pm, so I'm going to pm again. august is a tricky month, many people are on vacation)

Journal Entry 26 by rubyjules from Clifton Park, New York USA on Sunday, September 11, 2005
Oh, I really liked this book a lot! I defintely liked it better then The Eyre Affair. I think I'm more used to the author's writing, and that's why I was able to enjoy it more. I'm looking forward to the next book, now!

Thank you for sharing. I think I may see if anyone else in interested in a ray for this book, or else I may RABCK it.

This will be going to darlingd soon. 9/21/05
