rabck from MyssCyn; a book that starts with an imaginary gunshot and ends with a tin roof, and oh so much in between. NYC photographer Rebecca is famous for her photo's of early motherhood - one captioned "still life with breadcrumbs". Now 60, divorced and paying for her parents living expenses, she leases out her NYC home and moves to rural NY. There she meets roofer Jim Bates, 16 years her junior, when he comes over to evict the raccoon in her attic. She learns about rural life, and starts photographing things - crosses - that turn out to be not what they seem. Very good book.
