CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
MY REVIEW:
Read this one for the 666 for 2015 - An Around the World Reading Challenge which finally gets me off the mark for South America with this book which admittedly is not set in Brazil, but the author is Brazilian.
Hmm, ok! Here we go...
Paulo Coeho is an author I have looked at for a very long time, and never quite felt the pull to read his books, so I thank the 666 Reading Challenge for giving me that nudge.
Apparently this book is a tale about love.
I got a very strong impression this book was about religion, seeing as that is the main focal point.
A man of God, with a "gift" no less, has to decide if he becomes a Priest, or gives it all up and gets the girl instead (this is a very broad summary!).
Just felt it was all a bit more difficult than it needed to be, and at times a little far fetched.
I read this over a matter of hours (176 pages) not that it was particularly engaging, but more as it was easy to read and I wanted it out of the way.
I found reading the pages at the end about the author more interesting than the book itself.
This book is off on it's travels as a surprise Wishlist RABCK which ties in nicely with the Send your current read RABCK as well as the 2015 Wishlist Challenge threads.
(I always add physical postage stamps to my packages. If you are not a collector yourself, check out the I collect postage stamps because... thread to find them a happy home.)
Arrived safely. Thank-you very much!!
