This was waiting on the doormat for me today - my first book from overseas! Can't wait to start reading this - have had a lot of high recommendations. Thank you, bluenoser, for sending this to me!
It's hard to write a review without revealing the plot - but I'll give it a go!
I felt total despair after reading the first few hundred pages of this book - everyone I had spoken to about A Prayer for Owen Meany *loved* the book and I was a good way in and disliked Owen Meany with a passion - why did the other characters in the book like him, let alone other readers?! The monotony of the basketball shot being constantly practised made me as frustrated as Johnny Wheelwright...
But then, the final chapter - breathtaking as everything effortlessly slots into place in the space of a few pages. I finally joined the majority vote - I laughed at the humour and I cried at the end. The story will stay with me for a long time and I'm glad I didn't give up on it before finishing.
Will wrap it up and send it on it's next leg of the journey.

Huge apologies for the delay - my father was (inconsiderately!) rushed into hospital on Mothers Day...all is OK now and I'm back on track! Sent off to Lindlec today :)
Recieved as part of a bookring - thankyou.
A very touching and well written tale - I loved the way everything came together in the end.
Will be sending on to the next person asap.
