planning to read soon but you must also have seen how many other titles I have "TBR". Bought it purely and simply because it won the Man Booker Prize 2002. I'll review once I've read it.

I read the intro and first few chapters but then somehow I got conned by my mate (while we were snowboarding in Austria) to lend it to him as he was bored. I should get it back this week and will continue with the story then. After that it’s off to LMD!

I loved this book a great story and enjoyable read. The third and final part of the story however was slightly disappointing to me, I didn't understand why this was written in the way it was and it seemed to distract from the story. That being said I thoroughly enjoyed it and found the story immensely satisfying.

I don’t have LMD’s address anymore and their profile has been removed so this will remain on my bookshelf longer than expected.

I've borrowed this book from Stubee as he said I have to read it!

I really enjoyed this book, it was nothing like I'd expected it to be from reading the back cover. The story was amazing and fantastical in places, and the narration of Pi as he underwent his journey was really engaging and well written. This book definitely deserves its place on the 1001 list!

This is one of the best books I have read in absolutely ages. I just couldn't put it down, I was so engrossed in the story. The concept was so engaging and I couldn't wait to find out what bizarre event would happen next.
I'll be posting it to the next person tomorrow. Hope TheDunedan enjoys it as much as I have.

Thanks for sharing Stubee!!

Thank you I received the book this morning.

Journal Entry 10 by TheDunedan from Lincoln, Lincolnshire United Kingdom on Sunday, July 13, 2008
I finished this book last night and I have enjoyed reading it. I prefered the first half or so of the book and like stubee I didn't like the end section of the book as much, for this reason I have rated the book a 7 rather than the 8 I may have given it earlier on in the story.

I am waiting for the next person's address.

I am posting the book to RuthyToothy today.

I'm so sorry, I only realised today that I didn't journal this when it arrived! I've got about 100 pages left of the book before it in my "queue", so hope to start reading this in about a week :-)

Journal Entry 13 by RuthyToothy on Sunday, September 28, 2008
I had deliberately avoided hearing anything at all about this book before I read it, literally all I knew was the title, the Man Booker, and that it was on the 1001 list. I didn't even read the back cover, just decided to jump right in, and I really enjoyed it :-) I'm not normally very good at suspending my disbelief, and the scenario around which the story is based does seem totally bizarre, yet that didn't phase me in the slightest, and if anything, it drew my interest even more! That being said, like a couple of the previous reviewers, I found the last section of the book to be a disappointment, and was prepared to be really annoyed if we were supposed to come to the conclusion that it was all one big metaphor, but the last page left me with a big grin :-) So, thank you Stubee, for sharing :-)

I've sent a PM to jellyfish67 today asking for a mailing address, and aim to get the book posted on this week :-)
