Thank you so much florence71 for a wonderful parcel! This is a perfect book for my Easter holiday reading.

I really enjoyed this book about a young English Quaker woman who has moved to the US during the time of slavery and the Underground Railroad. I liked the way Tracey Chevalier showed the way that people are not necessarily all good or all bad, but struggle with decisions on how to act. This means her characters feel more rounded and believable. You never really know how you are going to cope with the extreme fear and danger of situations like the one in this book, although of course everyone hopes they would do the right thing.
