Love love love this book. I had to watch the film for English class in high school, which led me to the novel. Spooky and gripping. Who doesn't love Miranda in this book?!

Destined for the wild or controlled release eventually.

"This is a really clever book because like the local people in the story you are never quite sure exactly what happened to the girls and the governess but feel as if the answer is only just beyond your grasp and might be revealed if you can only just work it out. Love the way the author writes about the reputation of the school unravelling after the disappearances."

I had never heard of this book or seen the film, so it was a total surprise. I loved the mystery, the early 20th century atmosphere, the Australian background, though the end is so frustrating ! A highly recommendable novel, thank so much for sharing.
